Position Overview
We are seeking a Shipping Relationship Officer, with previous relevant experience, to join our Shipping Unit, part of our Corporate & Investment Banking Unit.
As a Shipping Relationship Officer, you will be part of the shipping RMs team responsible for managing and further developing a portfolio of shipping clients, fostering long-term relationships and identifying new business opportunities. You will cooperate with and support the shipping relationship managers, ensuring high-quality service and delivering tailored financing solutions to shipping clients, in line with the Bank’s strategy.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Supporting and contributing to the development of a portfolio of shipping clients, building strong and trusted relationships.
- Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the expansion of the Shipping portfolio with sustainability lending
- Assisting in the preparation of credit proposals for relevant Committees and the Bank’s headquarters.
- Structuring and negotiating financing solutions in line with client needs and the Bank’s risk appetite
- Monitoring client performance, market developments and industry trends to proactively manage risks and opportunities
- Coordinating with internal Units (e.g. Credit, Loan Administration, Legal) for the successful execution and servicing of transactions
- Contributing to the planning and achievement of the Unit’s business targets and budgets
You will be a great candidate for us if you have:
- At least 3 years of experience in Shipping Finance, Relationship Management or relevant roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or relevant field (postgraduate studies in Shipping or Finance will be considered a plus)
- Strong understanding of shipping markets and competitive landscape
- Proven experience in originating and managing client relationships and credit exposures
- Solid knowledge of credit analysis and transaction structuring
- Fluency in English
- Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial mindset, client-centric approach and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment
