Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Operational Risk Analyst to join the COO, International & Group Private Banking Operational Risk Management Unit (ORMU).

 

By joining us, you will play a key role in strengthening the operational risk and control environment across the business areas under the Group COO, International & Group Private Banking, supporting business operations, strategic initiatives, transformation programmes and technology-related projects, with a particular focus on ICT and Technology Risk.

 

The role provides extensive exposure to Operational Risk, Audit, Regulatory Compliance and Governance while offering the opportunity to collaborate with senior management, various Business Units, Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance and international stakeholders.

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Identify and assess operational risks across the business areas under the Group COO, International & Group Private Banking through risk assessment exercises (e.g. RCSA), reviews of new products, services, strategic initiatives and transformation programmes, with particular focus on ICT and technology-related risks.
  • Monitor the implementation of risk mitigation, audit and regulatory remediation actions and collaborate with business stakeholders to strengthen the operational risk and internal control environment, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Partner with Business Units, IT and control functions to enhance the Operational Risk Framework through the development and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), risk assessments and governance reporting.
  • Monitor operational risk events, significant control issues and emerging technology-related risks, ensuring their timely identification, accurate recording, impact assessment and appropriate escalation.
  • Participate in strategic business projects and contribute to initiatives related to operational resilience, ICT risk management, major IT initiatives, third-party risk oversight and the implementation of evolving regulatory expectations (e.g. DORA), providing independent challenge and risk advisory support throughout the project lifecycle.

 

You will be a great candidate if you:

  • Have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in Operational Risk Management, Internal or External Audit, Risk Consulting or another control function within the banking or financial services sector. Experience in ICT and Technology Risk will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science & Information Technology, Risk Management.
  • A Master's degree or professional certifications/ qualifications in Risk Management and project management such as CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CIA, FRM, PRM will be considered an asset.
  • Qualification in project management (e.g., PMP) will be additionally valued
  • Have a good understanding of Risk Management frameworks and internal control environments.
  • Possess a good understanding of Operational Risk Management and internal control frameworks. Knowledge of ICT governance, technology risk, cybersecurity, outsourcing or digital banking environments will be considered an asset.
  • Have experience participating in regulatory, audit or transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Have strong communication and stakeholder management abilities with the confidence to engage with senior business and technology leaders.
  • Are highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both Greek and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
