Position Overview
We are seeking an Government Bond Trader, to join our Markets Trading Team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing trades in the Capital Markets. Your primary goals will be market making in government bonds, client flow facilitation and developing strategies that respond to market trends by assessing market risk and monitoring performance, with the cooperation and support of the Senior Traders.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Execute transactions in fixed income instruments, both on the primary and the secondary market.
- Follow market trends and developments as well as the economic news.
- Facilitate client order execution under MiFiD
- Generate trade ideas to support and enhance financial results.
- Develop strategies to achieve desired portfolio objectives, such as income generation, capital preservation and risk mitigation.
- Support portfolio monitoring and generate regular reports.
- Ensure that all goals under his/her responsibility are met in a sustainable way.
- Ensure full compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines, with all required approvals/sign-offs obtained on a timely basis.
- Develop networks internally to enable the exchange of knowledge and the improvement of results.
- Implement best practices and introduce innovation deriving from the market.
- Maintain relationships with other commercial banks and financial institutions.
You will be a great candidate if you:
- Have up to five (5) years of professional experience in an industry-related position, in a financial organization.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree and/or a postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or other relevant field.
- A Bank of Greece B Certificate will be an asset.
- Have good understanding of Fixed income instruments, industry and products.
- Have familiarity with Portfolio Management.
- Have knowledge of the Bloomberg Fixed Income functionalities.
- Have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Have excellent command of the English language.
- Can demonstrate excellent skills at communicating with other team members and external stakeholders.
- Have strong quantitative skills & ability to use Trading Analytics in order to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
