International & Large Scale Architecture - Leader

We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable IT Infrastructure & Service Delivery Manager to lead our International & Large Scale Infrastructure Architecture unit in our Group IT.

By taking on this role, you will be an integral part of Group IT Operations, responsible for designing, analyzing, and delivering infrastructure solutions for our subsidiaries. This involves architecting and implementing modern technologies while embedding security best practices in every initiative. You will ensure the uninterrupted operation of our banking services and platforms, whether hosted in our own data centers or with public cloud providers.

In this position, you will oversee the architecture and delivery of cutting-edge technologies, leading design and implementation efforts aimed at continuously improving our standards and security frameworks. Your work will incorporate DevOps practices to enhance service delivery and capitalize on the benefits of automation. As the team leader, you will collaborate closely with international peers, Group IT Security, and other Group IT teams to implement both new and existing technologies, policies, and procedures, ensuring the availability of IT systems. Additionally, you will own the Incident Management process for our subsidiaries' IT Infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation and services resilience.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Primary Responsibilities:

1. IT Infrastructure Delivery, Modernization & Coordination:
   • Lead a team in the coordination, management, budget estimation and delivery for critical IT infrastructure modernization projects, including but not limited to, new banking and peripheral IT infrastructure technologies, applications deployments, Active-Active Datacenter solutions, Software Defined DC solutions, and workload automation. Capacity planning for on-premises and cloud relevant workloads that the team delivers is mandatory to ensure effective license control.
   • Act as the Group IT Operations representative in the international subsidiaries IT projects, actively engage in project progress and steering committees to ensure project requirements and issues are met and proper solutions are defined.
   • Foster strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders to prioritize projects effectively and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

• Collaborate with cross-sector units to ensure agreed deliverables and execution of IT infrastructure and cloud projects with high criticality and elevated budgets.

2. Technology Solutions & Application Architecture:
   • Identify and propose best-of-breed technology solutions in IT infrastructure, have a deep understating of the IT infrastructure, including, OS distributions, storage, virtualization, networking, firewalling, security, Software Defined Data Centers (i.e. VCF technologies), networking, firewalling, cloud (i.e. Azure/AWS/GCP) and containerization technologies such as Openshift/Kubernetes.

• Provide expertise on application architecture to guide infrastructure decisions, ensuring scalability and performance, with strong experience of Application Servers implementation (IIS, JBoss, WebLogic, Apache/Tomcat), advance architecture design knowledge (2Tier/3Tier application) and RDBMs (SQL, Oracle, MySQL etc.), message broker technologies (i.e. ActiveMQ, Kafka) and their integration needs between Application and Database.

3. IT Services Management & SLA Oversight:
   • Manage IT services availability and oversee Service Level Objectives (SLOs) with Group Business Units and serviced subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to established thresholds for service availability, recovery times, and incident management.
   • Actively engage in incident management processes to ensure rapid response of the team, informing stakeholders, and coordinating with asset/platform owners for resolution.

4. Automation & Process Improvement:

• Promote DevOps practices within the Infrastructure Automation team to streamline deployment processes and enhance collaboration between development and operations. Knowledge of Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline along with Datacenter Automation suites and configuration management suites such as Saltstack and Opentext DCA will be considered a plus.
  • Develop and promote standardized processes and practices that enhance efficiency and reduce downtime, leveraging automation tools.

5. Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
   • Issue periodic reports (ad-hoc/periodic) to business stakeholders, Group IT Management, and other relevant teams, highlighting performance metrics, trends, and areas requiring corrective actions. Proven experience of developing C-level material and ability to present in big audiences.
   • Analyze incident trends and coordinate with asset owners to develop permanent resolutions.

6. Team Development:
   • Drive the development of team members through mentorship, training, and performance feedback, ensuring continuous growth and alignment with organizational goals.
   • Encourage a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team, enhancing overall productivity and morale.

You will be a great candidate for us if you:

• 6 to 10 years of relevant professional experience within an established organization in Banking, or consulting industry; experience on collaborating and presenting to top management
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in IT or a relevant field of study
• Have deep understanding of infrastructure architecture and experience on coordinating complex cross functional IT projects with large teams
• Are fluent in English
• Being able to build confidence on the teams that will work with
