Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Risk, Governance & Actuarial Expert to strengthen Eurobank's independent control capabilities in relation to its expanding insurance activities.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of Group-wide insurance governance, independent oversight and assurance across the Group's insurance perimeter, working closely with senior stakeholders, insurance entities and the Group's independent control functions.

This role is particularly suited to an experienced insurance professional with actuarial knowledge who combines strong technical expertise with sound professional judgement and the ability to provide constructive challenge on strategic insurance matters.


Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Assess and contribute to the development and enhancement of the Group's insurance governance and independent control framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, Group standards and sound market practices.
  • Develop Group-wide insurance governance, policies, methodologies and reporting standards, ensuring appropriate alignment between banking and insurance oversight frameworks.
  • Monitor and independently assess key insurance risks, including underwriting, reserving, mortality, longevity, reinsurance, concentration, market, liquidity and asset-liability management (ALM) risks.
  • Review and challenge actuarial methodologies, assumptions, models and outputs used for insurance risk measurement, capital management and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide independent challenge on Solvency II capital requirements, ORSA, stress testing, scenario analysis, risk appetite frameworks and key risk indicators.
  • Review and challenge insurance risk reports prepared for senior management, Board Committees and other governance bodies.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, policies, processes, controls and reporting arrangements relating to insurance activities.
  • Contribute to independent opinions and assurance activities relating to strategic initiatives, new products, reinsurance arrangements, capital management actions and business planning.
  • Support the integration of insurance governance within the Group's overall governance and risk management framework.
  • Support supervisory interactions and contribute to the Group's preparation for Financial Conglomerate supervision.
  • Translate complex actuarial and insurance matters into clear, practical and decision-useful insights for senior management and Board audiences.
  • Build effective working relationships across the Group's insurance entities and independent control functions.

You will be a great candidate if you have:

  • Significant professional experience (typically 8 years or more) in insurance risk management, actuarial, Solvency II, capital management, reserving, ALM, reinsurance, consulting, supervisory authorities or another relevant independent control function.
  • Strong understanding of life and/or non-life insurance business models.
  • Solid knowledge of Solvency II, including SCR/MCR, ORSA, technical provisions, risk governance and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience in actuarial modelling, capital modelling, reserving, stress testing or scenario analysis.
  • A university degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or another quantitative discipline.
  • A professional actuarial qualification will be considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17, insurance ALM, investment management or data quality management will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical capability, attention to detail and sound professional judgement.
  • Ability to provide constructive challenge and establish credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within demanding timelines.
