Position Overview

We are seeking an IT Operations Engineer to join our Group IT. By joining this role, you’ll be part of Group IT Operations, responsible for implementing our IT strategy, delivering modern technologies, embedding security best practices, and maintaining uninterrupted operations of our banking services and platforms, hosted either in our DC premises or on public cloud providers.

As an IT Operations Engineer, your hands-on role will focus on architecting and implementing cutting-edge solutions, while ensuring the seamless operations of Group IT services. You will lead new technology implementations to continuously improve our IT landscape, working closely with Group IT and local subsidiaries' teams to ensure service resilience and availability.

As a key contributor, you will help ensure IT Services Operational Excellence while driving innovation and optimization within our IT environment.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the architecture, deployment, and integration of new technologies, ensuring optimal IT service delivery across both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS/GCP).
  • Drive innovation by implementing containerization technologies (OpenShift/Kubernetes), virtualization standards, modern application servers (IIS, JBoss, WebLogic, Apache/Tomcat), and secure networking practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure resilient, secure, and high-performing banking platforms and infrastructure—hosted both in data centers and public clouds.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and complex troubleshooting efforts, ensuring long-term resolution strategies that improve system reliability.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs and compliance with Group IT security policies through robust monitoring, patch management, and automation strategies.
  • Champion the use of enterprise-grade monitoring and automation tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Azure Monitoring, ManageEngine, CMDB suites) to streamline incident and asset lifecycle management.
  • Promote ITIL best practices (Change, Patch, Incident & Problem Management) and service governance across the IT Operations landscape.
  • Spearhead infrastructure automation and CI/CD processes using tools like Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, and Docker to enhance deployment speed and stability.
  • Work closely with Group IT and subsidiaries to deliver standardized and scalable IT operations and contribute to long-term IT strategy execution.

You will be a great candidate if you:

  • Have at least 4 years of experience in IT operations, architecture, and automation within large-scale environments, ideally in banking or consulting.
  • Demonstrate hands-on expertise in managing both on-premises and cloud infrastructures, including security controls, hypervisors, databases (SQL, Oracle, MongoDB), and containerized environments.
  • Possess strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bicep, KQL), along with practical knowledge of orchestration tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager.
  • Have delivered enterprise-grade monitoring solutions, CMDB designs, IT asset registry integrations, and patching automation across complex IT ecosystems.
  • Understand and apply modern security tools and frameworks such as EDR, SIEM, ISO27001, PCI-DSS, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
  • Lead with a collaborative mindset, mentoring peers and communicating effectively across diverse technical and business teams.
  • Excel at planning and executing complex IT projects under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Communicate fluently in English and build trust through a confident, reliable presence when working with teams and top management.
