Position Overview
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Domain Architect to join our Group IT Operations team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions for our banking services and platforms across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring that security, availability, performance and operational requirements are considered throughout the solution lifecycle.
You will work closely with infrastructure engineering teams, Information and IT Security, application teams, project managers and other architecture stakeholders. You will also contribute to infrastructure automation initiatives, collaborating with the Infrastructure as Code (IaC) team and supporting Ansible-based automation across infrastructure deliveries.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Contribute to the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions for new and existing applications across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments, considering availability, performance, security, disaster recovery and operational requirements.
- Translate technical and non-functional requirements into clear infrastructure designs and documentation, including architecture diagrams and high-level technical specifications.
- Collaborate with infrastructure engineering teams and subject matter experts across operating systems, virtualization, databases, networking, security, middleware, cloud, backup and storage, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards and approved technology patterns.
- Support projects from architecture and design through implementation, working with project and technical teams to identify dependencies and risks and address or escalate design-related issues.
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code and automation initiatives, working with the IaC team to identify opportunities for standardization and automation and supporting Ansible-based use cases across project deliveries.
You will be a great candidate if you:
- Have 3+ years of relevant professional experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, infrastructure design or a related technical role within a large-scale IT environment.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
- Have good working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems and exposure to at least one additional infrastructure domain, such as virtualization, databases, middleware, networking, storage, backup or cloud.
- Understand common enterprise infrastructure concepts and patterns, including multi-tier applications, high availability, disaster recovery, security controls and environment separation.
- Have familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V and fundamental networking concepts such as DNS, routing, load balancing and firewalls.
- Are able to translate technical and non-functional requirements into clear infrastructure designs and documentation.
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination and communication skills and are comfortable collaborating across different technical teams.
- Are fluent in Greek and English.
