Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head of Debt Capital Markets (DCM) to establish and lead our dedicated Debt Capital Markets unit within Markets Sales, further strengthening an already well-established DCM franchise and supporting its next phase of regional and international growth.
This is a strategic hire supporting Eurobank's ambition to build on its well-established position in the Greek capital markets and progressively develop a stronger regional and international DCM franchise, leveraging the Bank's corporate relationships, investor access and expanding international footprint.
The Head of DCM will combine a hands-on origination and execution role with responsibility for developing the business and its connectivity with issuers, investors and international investment banks. As the franchise grows, the role is expected to evolve into leading and developing a broader DCM team.
We are looking for a professional with a strong understanding of the full DCM transaction lifecycle — from identifying financing opportunities and advising issuers on capital structure, timing and market strategy, through structuring and execution, to syndication, bookbuilding and investor engagement.
Beyond technical expertise, this is a commercial, entrepreneurial and relationship-driven role, requiring the ability to build trusted relationships, originate opportunities and play a central role in shaping the next phase of Eurobank's DCM franchise.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Establish and lead Eurobank's dedicated DCM team, developing its business model, strategic priorities, processes and connectivity across Global Markets and the broader CIB organisation.
- Originate and execute Debt Capital Markets transactions for Corporate and Financial Institution issuers.
- Develop senior-level dialogue with existing and prospective issuers, providing advice on capital structure, funding strategy, refinancing alternatives, transaction structure, market timing, pricing and execution strategy.
- Manage the full DCM transaction lifecycle, including preparation, structuring, documentation, marketing, investor engagement, execution, pricing and post-transaction follow-up.
- Bring strong understanding of syndication and bookbuilding dynamics, including investor positioning, demand development, price discovery, orderbook quality, allocations and secondary-market considerations.
- Work closely with our Markets Sales network to further develop Eurobank's Institutional and Private Banking placing capabilities, connecting issuer origination with the Bank's domestic and international investor base.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with international investment banks and DCM syndicate desks, supporting Eurobank's participation in international transactions and progressively strengthening the Bank's positioning for senior syndicate roles.
- Identify opportunities arising from Eurobank's broader international corporate relationships and financing activities, with the objective of converting selected relationships into DCM mandates and syndicate participation.
- Work closely with Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions, Trading, Sales, Structuring, Treasury and other relevant stakeholders to deliver an integrated capital markets proposition to clients.
- Maintain a strong understanding of European credit markets, primary and secondary market dynamics, comparable transactions, investor behaviour and relative-value considerations, translating market intelligence into actionable advice for clients.
- Develop the DCM franchise with an entrepreneurial and ownership mindset, establishing the infrastructure, relationships and internal processes required for the business to scale.
- As the franchise develops, build, mentor and lead the DCM team, ensuring appropriate transfer of expertise and the development of a sustainable platform rather than a business dependent on individual relationships.
- Embrace AI, data and digital tools to enhance market intelligence, comparable transaction analysis, investor mapping, pitch preparation and execution, contributing to the continuous transformation of our Global Markets capabilities.
You will be a great candidate if you:
- Have significant relevant professional experience in Debt Capital Markets within a leading European or international investment bank, with a demonstrable track record in Corporate and/or Financial Institutions DCM.
- Have meaningful experience across the full DCM transaction lifecycle, ideally combining origination and issuer advisory capabilities with transaction execution, syndication and investor interaction.
- Have established relationships within the European DCM ecosystem, including Corporate and/or FIG issuers, institutional investors, syndicate desks and other international market participants.
- Have a strong understanding of European bond markets, credit products, documentation, execution processes, investor dynamics, pricing and relative-value analysis.
- Can demonstrate tangible involvement in successful DCM transactions and the ability to convert client relationships and market opportunities into executable mandates.
- Are highly commercial and entrepreneurial, comfortable joining a growing franchise where you will initially need to be both strategic and hands-on.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are comfortable interacting with senior corporate executives, CFOs, Treasurers, institutional investors and senior representatives of international investment banks.
- Can operate effectively across organisational boundaries, bringing together Origination, Sales, Trading, Investment Banking and Corporate Banking capabilities around a common client objective.
- Have the leadership potential and willingness to build and develop a team as the business scales, while remaining actively involved in clients and transactions.
- Hold a Bachelor's and preferably a Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or another relevant field.
- Have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Greek and/or other European languages would be considered an advantage.
- Are digitally literate, highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and keen to use modern AI and analytical tools to improve market intelligence, client preparation and execution.

- Competitive remuneration.
- Hybrid work: work-life balance through remote and in-office work.
