Position Overview

We're looking for an Assistant Analyst to join our Asset and Liability Management (ALM) team at Eurobank. This isn't just a job; it's a chance to launch your career in a dynamic and influential part of the banking world.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Data management and analysis. Gather, validate and analyze datasets from various sources.
  • Modeling and reporting. Running routine reports.
  • Executing interbank trades for hedging and funding purposes
  • Feeding bank’s core systems with basic benchmark rates for any sales / customer transaction
  • Evaluating, monitoring and managing Bank’s liquidity in Foreign Currency.

 

You will be a great candidate if you:

  • Have up to 2 years of relevant professional experience within an established organization in Banking (corporate or structured finance divisions) will be an asset.
  • Hold a Bachelor and postgraduate degrees in Finance, engineering, or a quantitative field of study.
  • Have knowledge of financial products: A basic understanding of common banking products, such as loans, deposits, and fixed-income securities, is necessary; understanding of financial derivatives (rates, currency) is a plus. The candidate should know how these assets and liabilities behave and how they contribute to the overall balance sheet.
  • Have a good understanding and interest in finance and accounting principles. The candidate should be comfortable with concepts like financial statements, balance sheets and basic financial ratios.
  • Are proficient in the MS Office suite (incl. quantitative and financial modelling skills) since you will be working with large datasets and financial models, also highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and be able to create clear and accurate reports. Knowledge of other tools like SQL, R, or Python for data manipulation and analysis is a significant asset.
  • Are fluent in English language.
  • Have basic awareness of key risks an ALM desk manages, including interest rate risk and liquidity risk.
  • Have attention to detail and analytical & problem-solving skills. The role involves identifying trends, analyzing variations, and helping to solve problems related to balance sheet mismatches.
